Fashion Designer John Galliano has claimed he remembers nothing of the anti-Semitic rant he is facing charges over.
According to the Metro, a court heard yesterday that Galliano was on a mixture of drink and pills at the time of the incident.
The star, who was sacked from fashion house Dior after the remarks, said he was addicted to alcohol and prescription drugs at the time.
Galliano said: “I have a triple addiction. I’m a recovering alcoholic and a recovering addict”
When asked why he failed to tell police of his addictions, Galliano replied: “I was still taking those pills and alcohol, and I was in complete denial.”
The British designer has undergone rehabilitation in Arizona and Switzerland since the slurs.
